  • Jane Brown - Feb 1951- Oct 2019 Wednesday 30 October 2019

Many of you will remember a lovely lady, our Jane Brown, ex-editor of
Beer Around Ere magazine, pub-goer, runner, mum and granny.
Tragically, her battle with cancer ended on 30th October.
The funeral will be next Thursday 14th November at 3.30 at the Crematorium.
I hope that many CAMRA members will be able to attend, to support her family
    at this difficult time.
PS no flowers please, instead, donations can be made to the Air Ambulance.
There will be a collection at the crematorium.

  • PBF 2019 - the 42nd Tuesday 6 August 2019
It's over - the biggest and best outdoor beer festival finished with a flourish,
selling nearly all the beer and cider.
Wine and gin proved very popular again - we had stock for just two more hours.
Well done the volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of PBF2019

  • The Ostrich will rise again Tuesday 30 July 2019

Great news regarding the Ostrich is that for those who may have noticed it being advertised for sale,
it has now been removed from the market, and will remain in the possession of one of its long term owners,
securing its future as a free of tie pub.
The Ostrich will be open up to and throughout the Beer Festival, before temporarily closing the doors
for a few days on the bank holiday Monday 26th August, whilst a refurbishment is carried out.
The pub will reopen lunchtime on Friday 30th August with a new landlord and landlady.
The Ostrich will continue with real ale very much its focus, including the existing varied
range of 5 real ales, plus craft beers, together with live music every weekend.
